What We Saved

Lisa Cox

The whole world
Burned
Turned to ash
We lit the match
Ourselves
Then called for
Help when the fire
Spread
Nothing was spared
Except one little
Box
We hung it
Precariously
Over a cliff
For safety
And threw the
Matches in
Just in case
We might need
Them again
