Vanitas by Greg Ponthus

The photography of Greg Ponthus is almost painterly in its presentation.  The above picture is part of his Vanitas collection.  They replicate classic still life portraits with modern touches.  How he is able to capture the light and colors is remarkable.  His other photos have the same quality – they seem like paintings as if he had drawn the light and the angle of the face or mixed the color of the greenery just right.  You can see more of Greg Ponthus’s work here.
