From the “Haiku II” series by Kate from Riga, Latvia

Kate is a photographer and graphic designer from Riga, Latvia.  Her beautiful series “Haiku II” features and orchid.  She pairs it with this Haiku:

fragrant orchid —
into a butterfly’s wings
it breathes incense
Matsuo Basho
I am adding some additional Haikus about Orchids.  To see more of her work visit this site HERE or HERE.

Orchid Haiku

Lisa Cox
I would consume your
Sweet elegant perfection
To taste your delights

Your diffidence has
Cast shadows on all others
Bright daisy feels shunned

Why so sad beauty?
No hummingbirds come to feed?
Poor Queen of Flowers

One Orchid I took
For my wedding day bouquet
It wilted too soon

Graceful petals fall
Unsuited for captive life
She divests herself

Orchid, winged bird caught
For a season on a stem
Fragile flight frozen
