Grief Untitled

Lisa Cox

red pulled lightly
across white surface
followed by muted hues
then ocean
laps sea foam tears
streaking azure golden
muddy streaks down
to depths
softly mark dark landscape
pull with feather strokes
trees from soft loam
upward breath of mink
hair spirals gulls
wings with mournful
cries echo silently
across canvas
colors swirl refusing
anchor sea tears
running throughout
trembling hand holds
brush rushing
pouring out into
color and light
and dark
self
