Harding Meyer is an accomplished painter from Germany. Born in Brazil and trained in Germany, his work has been exhibited world wide. He works on large canvases and focuses intensely on faces. He uses images from the media for his portraits instead of live models. His works have an ethereal quality, and some of them seem to be look up at you through the distortion of water or a bubble. The square shaped brush strokes he employs tease at the pixel/digital media he is working from, without losing the detail or humanity of his subjects. To see more of his work take a look at this site HERE, or his tumblr HERE.
