The Subversive Nature of Photography – Photography by Christopher Rodriguez

Christopher Rodriguez is a professional photographer currently living in Brooklyn.  He recently published a monograph of his photos entitled “Sublime Cultivation”.   The internet shapes cultural consciousness of the natural landscape through countless perfect, photoshopped, cropped photos.  In Christopher Rodriguez’s collection he juxtaposes those perfect, sublime photos with pictures that slip in the human element.  They are just slightly off from perfect.  We no longer live in the great, unexplored and pristine American wilderness, but the narrative presented online seems to present it that way.  Check out Wired for more info on Christopher Rodriguez’s work.
