Burning Persepolis

When Alexander went mad

With drink and power he

Burned the great palace

At Persepolis and

Half the world wept;

Half the world is burning

With disease, war, poverty,

And hunger and we rejoice

That soon our computers

Will run faster –

What shall we burn

When we reach this triumph?
